Successful fundraising

Each dollar raised at The Novel Challenge helps MS Australia support its clients through support services such as physiotherapy, counselling, access to specialist MS nurses, respite care and specialist referrals, whilst also working towards funding research into this mystery illness.

Every cent you raise will make a difference. Whatever your fundraising efforts, remember tell your supporters that their contribution is making a real impact on the MS Australia’s work.

Some tips to get you started:

  • Set ambitious, yet achievable goals
  • Plan your fundraising endeavours
  • Fully utilise your contacts
  • Make your fundraising fun!
  • Write a meaningful, personal note about why you are taking part in The Novel challenge and post it on your fundraising page and include it in your emails to share with potential sponsors.
  • MOST OF ALL: Ask. People can’t donate if you don’t ask them to!! Don’t be afraid, ask everyone you know!!

Who to ask

Anyone can sponsor you! You are only limited by the number of people you ask!

  • Friends of friends
  • Online friends
  • Don’t forget to ask your contacts if they know anyone who might like to sponsor you to!

Online fundraising

The easiest way to get people to sponsor you is through your personal online fundraising page.You can email your contacts straight from the website which will give them the link to your page. They enter their name, credit card details and a message. They will be sent a tax invoice directly to their email address. This saves you writing receipts and handling cash!
